MEANT TO BE | BOOK REVIEW

Synopsis: This spring break, Julia's rules are about to get defenestrated (SAT word: to be thrown from a window) when she's partnered with her personal nemesis, class-clown Jason, on a school trip to London. After one wild party, Julia starts receiving romantic texts . . . from an unknown number! Jason promises to help discover the identity of her mysterious new suitor if she agrees to break a few rules along the way. And thus begins a wild goose chase through London, leading Julia closer and closer to the biggest surprise of all: true love. Because sometimes the things you least expect are the most meant to be.

This book was very good. I loved the concept of the school trip. I thought the plot was very good, there was a lot of action and a lot of interaction between the main characters. I think that the book was well written and had very good descriptions.

Sometimes I did not understand the writing style, when the author seemed to add little asides which didn't seem to fit in with the writing. I felt the asides were coming from the actual author and not the character which made the book feel choppy at some points. But sometimes the little asides made sense.

Overall pretty good book, I don't think it was that cliche, there were a lot of twists and turns. I think we all knew how it was going to end, but the way author built the story and turned what could have been a total cliche on its head was very awesome and creative. I have to say the end was the best part because I kind of knew something was going to end up being weird, I totally didn't see it coming.

I really liked the main character, because I feel like I identify with her a lot! Sometimes we just need to let loose and I feel like the author demonstrated the need to have fun, while also being responsible, but not forgetting to not take life so seriously. It was also a perfect setting for that revelation.

9/10. Would suggest to friends and other rom-com lovers.

Until next time,

Britt
